Summertime is funtime! Long days, trips to the beach, staying up late and sleeping in, fun with friends, video game marathons… vacation is a kid’s dream, and it spreads out before them like an endless adventure. But soon enough, it’s time to start thinking about school again. This can be a challenge for children - and parents! - who have grown accustomed to a different, and often more flexible, schedule.

How can you get your child back on track and in the right mindframe to return to school?

For parents considering whether to choose private or public education for their children, academics, athletics, community, and class-size are important factors. However, safety is often the key concern for parents of school-aged children. In this article, we have compiled a short list of four ways in which private Christian schools are safer than public schools.

Should I send my child to private, public, or charter school? The key to answering this question is to thoroughly research your options, invest in your child’s education, and choose what you believe is best for him or her.

I often think God created dogs to remind us of how we should love Him. If your dog is like mine, he is waiting to greet you after a long day with bright eyes and a tail that can't control the excitement of seeing the one he loves more than anyone. I think this is how our Lord longs for us to come to Him. He waits and waits patiently for us to return home to Him.

How Important it is to Long for God

How often I walk in with a load of work, pet my dog on the head, dump food in his bowl and go about my business. Tonight, like many nights, I curled up on the couch still working. All of a sudden, my dog jumps up and looks at me as if to say, it's my turn!  I've been waiting for you!

I immediately stopped my work and started paying attention to my dog. He lavished me with licks and affection. Isaiah 30:18 says, "Therefore the LORD longs to be gracious to you, and therefore He waits on high to have compassion on you For the LORD is a God of justice; How blessed are all those who long for Him." 

If only we longed for our God like our dog longs for us. Thanks for the reminder Beau.
