christian school year startThe school day can be challenging for Christian students. Our children are just beginning their journeys of faith but often feel thrown into the deep end without a life jacket when they walk on campus.

There is pressure to abandon the faith and morals you have worked so hard to instill in them, before parents and churches have a chance to help establish a gospel-centered Christian worldview. They spend 6 to 8 hours a day in school, a few chaotic hours with you at home, and one to two hours a week with their church family.

Parents may feel like they are white-knuckling their way through each day, waiting and hoping their children will share the challenges and give you a chance to respond and help.

Is there another solution?

Emmanuel Lutheran School is open to students from every background, religious and otherwise, but our mission is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. For parents in the Asheville area who want to help prepare their Christian students to become well-rounded adults, ELS is the solution. Here's why.

A School for Christian Students

Of course, we are not a school limited to Christian students. However, our institution is perfect for preparing Christians to become the adults God created them to be.

Some of our key beliefs include:

  • The Bible is the inspired Word of God – it is absolute truth
  • God is one God in three persons – Father, Son, and Holy Spirit
  • God the Father sent His only Son, Jesus Christ, to die for all people. When He rose from the dead, Christ overcame sin, death, and the devil and made possible eternal life in Heaven for all who believe in Him
  • God sent the Holy Spirit to empower all believers to live their lives according to His Word

Everything we teach is guided by those principles. Students are given opportunities to hear the gospel every day. They are instilled with a Christian worldview that reinforces how God and the gospel are at the root of all truth.

Christian Students and STEAM Curriculum

While Scripture and theology are certainly a big part of the academic experience at ELS, we emphasize the importance of learning every subject. To accomplish this effectively, ELS is full STEAM ahead.

STEAM stands for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Beginning in kindergarten, this curriculum helps us prepare students for adulthood and gives them the tools they need to eventually enter the workforce while focusing on the importance of creativity and collaboration in every field.

Jesus' commission to Christians to make disciples of every nation was given to a group with the expectation that spreading the gospel would be a collaborative process. With STEAM in a Christian environment, your student will be encouraged to grow in every aspect of their faith and have the opportunity to learn vital skills they will use throughout their lives.
