private education ashevilleThere are many reasons families are attracted to Asheville. Even during the pandemic, the region's economy continues to hold strong, with great careers being added every year. Towns throughout western North Carolina were already thriving with new growth, but now the "Zoom town" effect has only increased the demand for housing. Desperate for a nice view and open spaces, people working remotely often feel cooped up in larger urban areas. In many cases, families are purchasing homes and property in our area sight-unseen.

In our minds, you could not choose a better place to live than western North Carolina. If your house does not have a view of the mountains, you at least get to see them on your way to work or schools. Our area has one of the highest concentrations of waterfalls east of the Mississippi River. Within a short drive of downtown Asheville, you can find countless miles of hiking trails to explore. There is more to do than one person could experience in a lifetime.

It is not just the natural wonders that appeal to people considering this area. We have a host of excellent restaurants and small businesses that draw residents and tourists. Our healthcare system is second-to-none in a metropolitan area of our size. Asheville is a well-educated city. There are several institutions of higher education in our region, such as the University of North Carolina Asheville, Mars Hill University, Western Carolina University, and Asheville -Buncombe Technical College. We have excellent public schools at every level of education. Still, some parents want more for their children's education than just studying traditional school subjects. Emmanuel Lutheran School is the only Christian parochial school in the area that offers a STEAM-based curriculum.

The purpose of STEAM is to empower students using technology along with the arts to build confidence and inspire students to do great things past their middle school experiences. We are a Lutheran school, but we are providing the highest quality academic experience for our students.

If you would like to know more about how your child can excel spiritually, academically, and emotionally at Emmanuel Lutheran School, we would love to answer your questions. We have been around a long time, but we are always searching for ways to improve the experience for our families and students. ELS utilized modern technology to ensure our students had everything they needed during the pandemic; however, our small class sizes and sanitation programs helped us maintain in-person classes throughout the 2020-2021 school year.
